Yummy Pasta!!

Okay, so I can't take any credit for this recipe since it's from Pinterest but we tried it on Sunday and whoa, soooo yummy! The name of it is Spicy Romano Chicken with Artichoke Hearts and Sundried Tomatoes but I used sausage instead of chicken and only used green onions since I didn't have artichoke or sundried tomatoes. Here's the link if you want to see the real recipe and not just what I did:

Anyways, here is what I did:

THE SAUCE

THE INGREDIENTS

How to make it:

To Prepare The Sauce

  • Melt butter in saute pan or skillet. Add cream, salt and pepper, heat to a boil. Remove from heat and fold in cheeses and cayenne pepper. Set aside.
  • For Ingredients:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage. Then melt butter, add any veggies in separate pan. Stir for one minute. Next add sausage. Stir. Stir in 1 ounce heavy cream and 1/2 of the sauce. Add bowtie pasta followed by rest of the sauce. Stir gently. Serve.

Aspirin Face Scrub

I've tried this a few times and I L-O-V-E it.
Super easy and super cheap too!

Place 3 aspirin in the palm of your hand and add a few drops ofwater. Just let them soak for about a minute then add a few more drops of water. The tablets will break down when you push on them and you can add as much water to it so it's a good consistency to use to scrub your face with. Make sure to not get it in your eyes! Use the mixture to exfoliate your skin and then rinse with a wash cloth.

I love it because my skin feels sooo soft after I use it.
It's supposed to reduce redness, however I currently have a massive crater on my forehead and used this scrub this morning and didn't notice any redness reduction . . . just a baby soft face!

I've read that some people mix organic honey with the aspirin and use it as a face
mask; I've tried that and did NOT like it at all. However, you may :)

**Be sure not to use too often, I've read that it has totally dried out some skin when used two days in a row. (I have not had any problems with it)

Boiling Potatoes!

Here is a cool trick I found online for boiling potatoes:

-Stab the potato with a knife, and then pull it out of the pot.  If the potato slides off the knife then it's done!

Super handy, especially since when making mashed potatoes the worst is when you start mashing and realize they're not done, cuz you can't really put them back in the pot to boil!

Cinnamon Bun Pancakes

I made these the other day for breakfast and we all really liked them that I made them again a few days later. They don't really take much more work than regular pancakes.

http://realmomkitchen.com/1321/cinnamon-bun-pancakes-with-maple-butter-icing/

Here's my few tips-
-I didn't have corn syrup so I didn't use it and it didn't seem to be missing anything.
-I did NOT double the syrup/icing recipe. We actually had some leftover so I can't imagine how much syrup they're putting on the pancakes. But maybe we're also okay with sorta dry pancakes.
-I would half the butter/margarine in the syrup/icing. I felt like that flavor was too strong.

Let me know if you try it! Enjoy!

Welcome!!

Hello to all my dear sisters and mother! Here's our new, wonderful blog upon which we can share our greatest cooking secrets!  (And by 'our' I mean 'your,' because I certainly don't have any yet!)

On this blog we can post yummy recipes we've tried (no pictures required, but they're fun!) or cooking tricks that we've learned.

So get to it, girls! Remember, I'm counting on you or else I'll be stuck eating ramen—again.

-Linda

Oh, P.S. I think we should try and make sure to put labels at the bottom of our posts—that way we can have easy access to them later.  That said, we should also probably decide on certain uniform labels so that we don't end up with 12 different variations of 'quick and easy,' etc.

The ones I can think of so far are possibly:
-Quick and Easy
-Cooking Tips
-Snacks
-Dinners
-Desserts

and then just some of the main ingredients in the recipe and/or the name of the dish, etc.  What do you think?  Give some input quick so we can get this thing up and running!
